Solar Availability for Heating Water Tank

Solar availability to warm tank water only occurs during low or minimal cloud cover. In the graphic below the higher number represents greater cloud cover, as measured at the Indianapolis Airport. Only the black areas are possible times for solar water heating. Further, since airport measurements are for any time of day (or night) the available time for solar heating is additionally reduced.
